Slumpy Sunday

Hellooo my lovelies hope you are all good & well!

Theres's nothing worse than hitting a slump half way through the month or even half way through a book (especially if you were enjoying it). So I have come up with my top 5 tips on how to get out a slump & maybe even prevent one happening?!

WWW Wednesday

Hellooo my lil bookworms, can't believe it's Wednesday again already!

Hope we are all good & not in any reading slumps. Got a busy second half of the month to look forward to with my daughters parents evening at school & my sons 1st birthday. Along with all the reading I'm going to try & fit in for all the readathons I'm doing this month lol.

Any hoo enough about life lets talk books:

What did you read last week?
I read Fire & Heist by Sarah Beth Durst & continued reading Circe by Madeline Miller.

What are you reading at the moment?
Still reading Circe which I'm hoping to finish today & started Sleeping Beauties by Stephen King.

What do you want to read next?
Well going to continue with Sleeping Beauties & once I've finished Circe will probably go onto either One of Us is Lying or King of Scars. Also planning on reading Wonder for a 24hour readathon on Saturday.

What are you reading? Let me know in the comments down below ↓

Until next time byeeeee!

Bookish A-Z Tag

Hey all! How are we all this Sunday? I fear I'm heading into a reading slump 😢 hoping to just persevere & kick start my vibe again.

Got another wee tag post for you today. Saw it on Lala's Book Reviews if you want to go check hers out as well. On with the tag!

A - Author you've read most books from
Would be Stephen King, my Dad introduced me to him about 10-11 years ago & since then I have read I'd say about 75% of his books.

B - Best sequel ever?
The one that instantly springs to mind for me is Kingdom of Ash. That book destroyed me, but it was oh so good!

C - Currently Reading
Circe by Madeline Miller & Fire & Heist by Sarah Beth Durst.

D - Drink of choice when reading
Anything usually tea or juice.

E - Ebook or physical?
Depends I prefer ebook when I'm in my bed as can read without disturbing anyone, but like to have a physical book for the smell & feel of it in my hands.

F - Fictional character you would have dated in high school
I haven't a clue think of any stereotypical bad boy character & I would have probably went for them 😂

G - Glad you gave this book a chance
Would have to be Needful Things by Stephen King as that was the book that got me really back into reading.

H - Hidden Gem
Loved Empress of a Thousand Skies by Rhoda Belleza. Can't say I've seen anyone talking about this book & because of that never expected much when starting it but really enjoyed it.

I - Important moment in your reading life
Ehm the day I discovered BookTube & BookTwitter lol. Have found so many great reads from them both.

J - Just finished
Bird Box by Josh Malerman. I recommend it to everyone!

K - Kind of book you won't read
I steer well clear of the smut with the cheesy covers or just smut in general. Just no interest in that kind of thing!

L - Longest book you've ever read
According to Goodreads it would be A Dance with Dragons from the Game of Thrones series coming in a whopping 1112 pages!

M - Major book hangover
Can say I've 3 major book hangovers so far & they've been after reading the Game of Thrones series, the Throne of Glass series & most recently The Nevernight Chronicles.

N - Number of bookcases you own
I own 4 bookcases. 1 tall Billy, 2 smaller ones, 1 of which the kids use & 1 donated from a friend. Thanks Lynda!

O - One book that you've read multiple times
To be honest I don't really re-read books. If their part of a series I like to try & wait until its complete then power through them all. But saying that I have re-read 3 series Harry Potter, Throne of Glass & The Nevernight Chronicles.

P - Preferred place to read
I read mostly at my desk or in my bed but will plonk my bum down anywhere to read.

Q - Quote that inspires you / gives you all the feels
When all else fails give up & go to the library - Stephen King 11/22/63

R - Reading regret
That I keep buying books that I have no time to read yet dying to read them.

S - Series you started & need to finish
Has to be Outlander. Loved the first book & the TV series I just keep getting distracted by all the other books!

T - Three of your all time favourite books
1. IT by Stephen King
2. Godsgrave by jay Kristoff
3. The Priory of the Orange Tree by Samantha Shannon
Though these 3 are subject to change as love all my book babies equally... unless they're really bad!

U - Unapologetic fangirl for
I am Sarah J Maas trash, prefer ToG series to ACOTAR though. Plus anything Stephen King & Jay Kristoff cause they just rock!

V - Very excited for this release
The Sky Weaver by Kristen Ciccarelli as loved the 1st 2 books in the Askari series & can't wait to get the 3rd & binge read them all.

W - Worst bookish habits
Not taking notes to write reviews. Then having no clue what I've just read but still trying to tell everyone else about it.

X - X marks the stop? From the top of your bookshelf what's number 27?
Death Du Jour by Kathy Reichs (taken from my TBR bookcase)

Y - Your latest book purchase
Have pre-ordered a few books but have recently received my copy of Girls of Storm & Shadows by Natasha Ngan.

Z - ZZZ snatcher! Last book that kept you up all night reading
Haven't a clue. Would have been a while ago though as with a young child I need all the sleep i can get at night as I can lol.

& that's my A-Z! Feel free to tag yourself.

Have also included links to all the books so you can go read what they're all about over on Goodreads just need to click on whatever book name your interested in. Until next time byeeeee!

October Wrap Up 2019

Well October has been & went & I definitely didn't meet my reading goals.

I finally re-read the first two of The Nevernight Chronicles & read Darkdawn so the month wasn't a total wipe out just a shame after those three I hit the usual slump.

As stated above these are the books I read and their ratings:
